BJHS's (almost) annual Christmas concert has become an eagerly-awaited event and the standard set over the years has been impressive.

The format has varied but, in most years, the lower Primary classes have performed a nativity. In years without involvement from upper Primary in the main item they have usually performed short items between the two performances.

The main item has usually been a musical, a play punctuated by musical items and songs, and usually involving Secondary pupils but sometimes involving some of the upper Primary classes. One early exception was Tales from a Peat Fire, which involved short pieces performed by groups and classes and linked by a pair of auld wifes sitting out at the front of the stage.

Recently, the performances have become multimedia events, with pre-recorded video and music combined with live action, song and music. In 2003 and 2004, the concerts were themed pieces form each class, from Nursery all the way up to Secondary 5, but 2005 saw a return to the nativity and musical format.

If you can add any detail to the table above, or have photographs of the older plays which we could present here, then click here to get in touch.
