Geopark Poster
In science, pupils have just produced a series of three posters that tell the story of the Baltasound Junior High School and Anderson High School visit to the Eshaness peninsula in June. This was a joint project with the team from Geopark Shetland. By discovering, exploring and contributing to the conservation of this wild place, pupils are working towards a John Muir Award. Thanks go to the Royal Society for part funding the visit and to the Braewick cafe for hosting it.

Welcome Back!
Welcome back to all pupils and staff after the Summer holidays. We hope everyone had a great time and are feeling fresh and energetic for the new school year. There is a lot planned for this year, with a new timetable. This includes two Cross Curricular days each week, which will help meet the objectives of Curriculum for Excellence. Secondary pupils now meet for Registration in their House teams (Flugga, Balta and Uyea) and we hope this will create a community feeling within the school and encourage pupils to look out for each other.
We have three new pupils in Primary One, who are enjoying being in their new classroom, and the new secondary pupils are getting used to no longer being in primary!
Finally, we would all like to congratulate Paul (Computing Teacher) and Linda on the birth of Kirstie Laura during the holidays. She is a beautiful peerie lass and we hope they are all managing to get some sleep!
